Introducing
Hello & Welcome!
I have recently completed my Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology at Yorkville University and am registered with the British Columbia Association of Clinical Counsellors (BCACC) as an RCC. I support individuals navigating anxiety, depression, burnout, career and life transitions, and relationship challenges. I collaborate with my clients to work towards their goals by building on their current strengths. I love to embrace humour, as I find it’s always important to welcome laughter as much as possible and the connection it brings. My core values as a therapist are honesty, authenticity, and accountability. I find that when we can take accountability of our actions and aspects that we can control in our life, that’s when change and growth can occur. I aim to build genuine and trusting relationships with my clients and to make them feel heard and understood.
My approach to counselling mainly brings in cognitive behavioural therapy, dialectical behaviour therapy and solution-focused therapy to integrate tools and interventions to support clients with their presenting concerns and help them meet their goals. I am also very interested using a psychodynamic approach through an Adlerian lens, when appropriate, to look at a client’s past and present interpersonal relationships, and family dynamics. I find it important to recognize the profound impact these elements have on shaping who we are. My goal is to create a supportive environment where client’s can explore their thoughts, feelings, and experiences, and to learn and develop new skills.
