Introducing Nicole

Hello, I’m Nicole (she/her)

I specialize in supporting individuals dealing with anxiety, depression, or challenges during the perinatal and postpartum periods. I work with you to explore past experiences, current coping mechanisms, and thought patterns to help you understand their origins and find pathways to peace. My goal is to alleviate distress and feelings of guilt or shame, allowing you to reconnect deeply with yourself and your loved ones. My approach is centered around empowering clients and acknowledging the unique aspects of each person's journey. I utilize methods from Internal Family Systems, Adlerian psychology, and mindful self-compassion to tailor a therapeutic experience that fits you.

I’ve had the honour of working with teens (aged 13+) and adults facing various life challenges and am eager to accompany you on your path to discovery and healing.
If you’re seeking support specifically for perinatal or postpartum issues, here’s some information for you. Pregnancy and new parenthood are often portrayed as purely joyous times, but many people experience significant fear, stress, and loss during these periods. Although it’s common to have mixed emotions, society often imposes guilt for any feelings that aren't positive. I’m here to validate and support all your emotions during these times, helping to reduce shame and isolation. Counseling during pregnancy and the postpartum period benefits not just the individual, but also the child, partner, and the family as a whole. If you’re pregnant or have recently given birth and are struggling with anxiety, detachment, depression, or a sense of helplessness, please reach out.

Postpartum blues affect 50% to 75% of birth parents, and fluctuating emotions are perfectly normal. However, postpartum depression and anxiety can hinder daily functioning and bonding with your baby. Together, we can connect you with additional support, manage symptoms, and guide you toward recovery. It’s never too late to seek help. Pregnancy loss is an incredibly difficult experience that can feel isolating. Often, people don’t know what to say, which can leave you feeling abandoned or further hurt. Grieving this loss is profoundly personal, influenced by your background, beliefs, and support systems. Using a trauma-informed, person-centered approach, I offer a safe space for you to process your grief and work towards navigating life post-loss
